if it was a PS2, id say use the USB ports on the front.. not sure with XBOX though. I know the controller port is nonthing but a modified USB port.. doubt it useable like that. I guess you just have to scroll around using the controller... or possibly enable remote desktop sharing on it and control it with another computer.

Whoa! That's friggin' cool.

I can see it now...

"World's largest, cheapest supercomputer created out of 250 000 Microsoft XBox game consoles running linux. Cost: 1/4 that of Deep Blue."

hehe

(those numbers were pulled out of my ass btw)

It's called telnet(boo)/ssh(yay) dude. Remote login to a command line and you might as well have a keyboard hooked up to it. Better yet, log in from a computer running an X server, and run X remotely over the network (basically remote desktop sharing, but cooler).

This should answer your question
Will I still be able to play games once Linux is on my hard disk?

That depends on the solution you choose. If you run Linux through the XBE bootloader on an Xbox with a modchip, there will be a software-based dual boot solution. It will also be possible to run Linux from a CD without having your hard disk modified at all.
If you use the replacement ROM method, you would have to install both ROMs in parallel to be still able to run games.

yea if it were PS2 you could use the game shark keyboard (would work fine {not just for gameshark}) and you could use the gameshark mouse. although PS2 doesnt have a ethernet plug on it.
and your right about controling it with another computer. Now they have VNC Virtual Network Computing (i think thats it) where you can control computers from other loactions.
