Linux Web Hosts with shell access?

There doesn't seem to be a forum where this naturally fits, so I'll risk the admin's wrath by posting here.

Does anyone know a good linux web host that gives you shell access? I have Dreamhost right now, but the performance is up and down.

There are some, but they are all pretty crappy IMHO, and i've tried alot of them. Your best business would probably be to get a VPS server, in which you'll have your own copy of the OS and shell, rather than a server being so insecure as to have jailed shell access to all the clients. For cheap quick tests of scripts and stuff (Sandox) i just use the 10$mo www.rapidvps.com plan. Decent support, good uptime, cheap, and excellent sandbox. Couldn't ask for more.
 
I've been using eapps.com, and been happy w/ them.
They don't have state of the art support or service, but are generally very reliable.
