Linux Video card suport question

I run Fedora Core 4 on my AMD 64 rig (specs listed below) I have sold my precious X800XL today, because after Half Life 2 ( The Best and Last hardcore game I will ever play on my rig) I decided to retire from my expensive gaming habit , add to that that I have become bored of gaming in general.
But still in Linux I might run a game here and there , there are some decent free FPS games for Linux out there that require some minimum 3D support.
My question is , is the Nvidia G-Force 6200 / 6200TC fully supported in Linux, will Fedora Core 4 have any problem auto-detecting and installing the 6200 drivers ? The only reason that I am getting an Nvidia is for the 3D support in Linux.

enemy territory is pretty low requirments..

I dont' think FC4 will install the correct drivers, you will have to download/install them yourself (just the same as windows).

The 6200's are problematic even in windows. I'd suggest a 5900 or a 6600. I have a BFG 6800GT and its works wonderfully.

How problematic is the 6200 / 6200TC ? Will it work in the end ? I have sold my X800XL and I just want the cheapest PCI express card from nvidia that I can get , 6600 is out of range and the 5900 too, plus the last one is AGP isn't it ?

The 6200 *should* be fine, but I cannot speak to it on FC4. I have it running with 3D enabled on my Pentium D. But, I am not a gamer.

I'm almost certain 3D acceleration won't be enabled by default so just get the latest NVIDIA Linux driver and it should be fine.

3D support is not available with the generic nv driver included wiht X. 2D also is pretty sluggish with the nv driver. If you get the NVIDIA driver from their site and install that, you will scream in 2D and 3D.
