Does that have DVD support? I want to determine whether a DVD or CD is in the drive.
The script I was using runs "cdrecord dev=2,0,0 -atip > tmp.log". Then greps for "mmc_cdr" to see if the CD driver is being used. If notm it knows that the media is a DVD.
Where can I get cdrtools, and read up on it?
Thanks!
Cdrecord supports DVD-R and DVD-RW with all known DVD-writers on all UNIX-like OS and on Win32.
DVD writing support is implemented in cdrecord since march 1998. Cdrecord writes DVD media similar to CD media.
NOTE: the DVD-recording drivers have been added to the OpenSource
part on May 15th 2006 with cdrtools-2.01.01a09.

Does the download link (<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/ProDVD/)">ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/ProDVD/)</a> work for you?
No, but it doesn't matter anyhow. cdrecord (part of cdrtools I guess) works with DVDs.

According to your note, only if you have the version that was released ~1 month ago.
