Linux/Unix/Windows and Viruses

Hi everyone,

I have seen windows antivirus softwares everywhere, but not even one for linux/unix system. What happen when a linux/unix system got a virus? I wanted to know about this because I'm planning to setup my own webserver on a redhat/linux system. Also, if any of you know of a good website providing information on setting up a webserver for a linux/redhat system, please let me know.

Thanks

There are very few viruses for *nix systems. A full blown antivirus system isn't necessary. The check root script (chkroot?) is something you could play with, it just checks for common rootkits.

That's what you should worry about, yes.
Of course it *CAN* get a virus, same as any other OS, it's just not a significant threat at this time, maybe if Linux ever catches on big with the home users, it will become a major problem, but right now, it isn't.
