Linux trouble

I got dns2go on my computer and I wanted it to start when the computer started. I used webmin to do this but when the computer restarted, it hung on starting dns2go. I had to go into fail-safe mode to get rid of the dns2go file in /etc/init.d. Is there another way I could be doing this?

Add it to start up manually. Its different from distro to distro so Ill either let you figure it out or wait for more information
