Linux support RAID 0 on Springdale MB's with ICH5R

Hi - is anyone running linux on an Abit IS7 or similar 865PE Motherboard with the ICH5R southbridge? And with RAID 0 on the boot disk?

I understand ICH5 support went into a version of the 2.4.21 kernel, but I don't think any current linux distributions have that, and even then, does it support raid on the boot disk?

If you are successfully running in this configuration, could you elaborate on the steps you too to achieve this?
