Linux steals / hides windows partition

i'm helping a friend configure mandrake 7.1 and it keeps taking his 8 gig fat32 partition and hides it from windows (changes something, i dont knwo what) the partition is readable by Linux, but windows cant see it after the Linux installation.

how can i make it visible again?

There is a bug in the installation setup on Mandrake 7.1.

Thanks big time for the info guys.
I recently received 7.1 and was going to install it but had so many problems with 7.0 that I will wait for my Redhat 7.0 to come in.
