Linux small network

Hi

We have three computers connected in a small network in the following way:
There is a server PC running Winxp and Sygate Manager, two client computers: one on Win2k and one running Win98SE. All the computers are connected to an ethernet switch.

I don't know a lot about networking, nor do I know about the way the network is set up. However, I would like to be able to use Linux on the server PC while keeping the network working, because as soon as I run Linux, internet sharing stops working.

I am using Knoppix 3.7 (Debian) linux, by the way.

Thanks in advance

Well the easiest way would be to replace whatever software on the Win2K box is doing the Internet "sharing" with a little Linksys thing so that you can still use the Internet while you figure out Linux. It also isn't very smart to put an Internal server directly on the Internet anyway.
