Linux Router Help

To make a long story short I'm using maximum's pc article to configure a linux router from my old p133. I run into trouble. I first have to boot into DOS through a dos boot disk and assign an IRQ to each of my NICS and I/O address. Because the program we're using (BBIagent) to transform our ancient pc133 into router, does not support Pnp. Does anyone know what command I have to use while I'm booted into DOS through my boot disk to assign IRQ's and I/O addtresses to my 2 NICs?

Thanks in Advance.

Usually there would be a program that came with the NICs, I believe. But if they are PCI NICs they should work just fine under any modern Linux.

They are PCI Nics but I had to disable plug and play on the p133. Because the stripped down version of linux I are using, which is, BBIagent (http://www.bbiagent.com) requires me to manually assign IRQ's and I/O's to both nics and then enter that information into BBIagent, which then will make an image for me to put on a floppy My question is, how do I do that? I booted into DOS mode through one of my boot floppies but I don't know the dos commands to assign IRQ's and I/O. I have a Linksys LNE100TX - EtherFast® 10/100 LAN Card and a Netgear FA312 10/100 Low Profile PCI Network Card w/WOL. I've looked through their drivers, but none seem to come with a program that will allow you to configure such settings,

Anymore help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Try Smoothwall or STRIP down clark connect.

I ran CC on a 166 w/32 MB of ram and I turned off everything except the firewall and DCHP server and it worked flawlessly untill the MB crapped out.

I have used BBIagent for several years....I only ever had to disable PNP when using ISA nics, any routers I have made/setup using PCI cards PNP was never an issue.
when you set the configuration of the image you are going to download and copy to the floppy specifiy the nics are PCI..no need to enter any IRQ info . Just click next on that screen where it asks about IRQ and I/O range, just skip it, it's just for ISA cards.

that being said, I have not used the very latest version of BBIagent as yet.

by the way your link is wrong..its bbiagent.net

I just created and downloaded a image for the newest version....just skip to the next screen... enter no data on the screen pertaining to IRQ and I/O range. just like I remembered it.

BBIagent is a fine router, suprised it isn't used / recommended more often. Very easy to configure, and very robust.

could you post a link to the maximum pc article, thanks
