How hard is it to configure a Linux box to be a router/firewall? I've never used Linux before, but my parents are getting a new PC and, if possible, I want to get some more usefulness outta their P 200. I want to get into Linux, so would this be a good "first project" or am I getting in over my head?

A lot of people's first venture into Linux is a NAT/firewall, it's not too hard and it gives you something to do in Linux other than watch the screen savers =)

If you just want it to work and that's it get a 'firewall' distro, it'll pretty much do everything on it's own. If you really want to learn Linux install a full fledged distro like Debian (my preferance), Slackware, RedHat, etc and jump in.
