Linux - pulled scsi card no boot

unhuman

Senior member
I want to pull out my scsi card from my system - it's no longer used - and windows is no problem, however, my Mandrake 10 install won't boot without the card. It hangs after it does the swap file [OK] with no indication of what it's doing next.

I commented out the scsi card stuff in modprobe.conf and modules.conf, but that was no improvement. Any ideas?

It's an adaptec 2940, but I doubt that makes a diff.

Thanks - howie
