Linux pop3 Problem

We have a RedHat 7.3 server that we just installed (because the old one was running out of space) here at work, and we seem to have gotten things up and running pretty well.

However, we have a few users that need to check their email from outside the office. But, they can't, for whatever reason. We're using sendmail to send, and the pop3 service is up and running. We can check email from within the network just fine, but the user outside our office is saying that they are getting a timeout error.

Our router is forwarding ports 25 and 110 to the mailserver, so I don't know what's going on. Has anyone ever had this kind of problem?

Well, the boss goes home and tries to get in, and it works. Just a fluke, I guess. Maybe they hadn't restarted their computer in a while.
