Linux on Pentium 4 mobo

I'm looking to build my new system within the next few weeks or so, and I can't decide on a motherboard. I want a Pentuim 4, and want all the performance I can get. That part is easy. The hard part is that I would like a motherboard with onboard RAID, but none seem to support linux or have linux drivers available. Right now i'm leaning toward the 845E chipset, but that is not set in stone yet. All my efforts so find a motherboard that meets my requirements has come up with nothing. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, they would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

If you want P4 and max performance go 850(E) => Rambus.

One can have an oppinion about the company, it's morals & actions.

It's memory, however, rocks, together with P4.

Hope this little snippet helps you a little 🙂.

I realize RAMBUS is the top performer, but it's a little out of my range. I am trying to keep my system at about $1,600 if possible. And there are very few things I'm willing to cut out that i'm planning in order to get a few fps. Anyway, my question still didn't get answered, are there any motherboard companies that offer linux compatible on-board RAID? Thanks
