Is it possible to install Linux on this mac, but boot with a floppy instead of a bootloader?? it would be verrrry useful

<edit> this is the deal...i have this laptop, but i dont own it, just use it. I would love to put linux on it so that i dont have to fart around with macs. Is there anyway I can load linux on it, but not have to use a bootmenu to use it? It only has a DVD drive. The floppy is USB. is there anyway to load it off of floppy?
