Linux on Dual Boot Laptop: Suspend-to-Disk

I want to install Red Hat on my laptop, which already has Win98SE and which must have a suspend-to-disk partition.

Some stuff I've read elsewhere suggests that I must reformat the entire harddrive, and create a new suspend-to-disk partition, reinstall Win98SE, and then install Red Hat on its partition.

I don't want to do all that.

I'd like to use Partition Magic to simply make a partition for Red Hat, and install from there.

Dual Boot Win98 and Linux on Clevo 3100c with Suspend To Disk

Anyone have any experience with this?
