hey, I was thinking about installing linux on my computer, its a soyo dragon+, athlon xp 1800+, 60gb ibm hd, radeon 8500, 256mb ddr ram and was wondering which linux to use and also if there would be any conflicts with the hardware that I have. thanks!

the only possible problem might be your radeon, but i'm not too sure. as far as what distro to use, the 3 you'd probably want to choose from are mandrake, red hat and suse. do a search for "distro" and you can read up on the pros/cons of them, they're talked about plenty here. and also read up at places like linuxdoc.org and linuxnewbie.org BEFORE you install, it will save you some headaches if you somewhat know what you're getting into first. (whats a man page?) :p

Radeon 8500 support will be MUCH better in the upcoming Mandrake 8.2 which is due out any day now.
