Linux on a slow machine..mandrake or redhat??

am installing this on a 200Mhz pentium as a familty's second computer. They used to have windows 95 and want their children to have something to mess with that works this time.


Which is perfered?


Mandrake 8.2....or Redhat 7.3???



I know this is a repost, but I am installing in a few minutes....anyone?

its the WM that will bog the machine down, not the OS in itself. (for the most part).

maybe something light like blackbox. KDE3 will crawl on a P200. (i assume... never tried it.)

But out of the two...which would be better for family use...I have installed and used both but can't decide...


Yeah..KDE is a hog......blackbox or enlightenment

If you are not using KDE or Gnome then Red Hat and Mandrake are basically the same. Also check out Fluxbox for a lightweight WM.
