linux nvidia drivers

Also, your distro may have it's own NV driver package. Use whatever search capability in your package manager, and search for "nvidia".

Probably true, but even better would be to become a member of the forum that is specific to your Linux distro. All if the major ones I know of (and probably countless ones I don't) have forums that are generally very helpful and far more experienced in that specific area.
