Linux newsreader Pan 0.11.1.90 is out and it is a very goooooooooood newsreader.

Yes it's a beta build but hey for a beta it's damn good. Only problem I have run into is a crash that happened as a result of me launching it via konsole in KDE and trying to reply to a post with quoted text but since I used just used run command > pan in KDE and I added it to my menu and luanched it useing my menu I haven't encountered that problem anymore. Seems they have been working hard on squashing the bugs and it shows. So I guess pan be replacing my Knode fixation soon. I can't wait till they make it a stable build but by then I will be drooling about the next beta build all over again. 😛

Ive seen things about it before but I couldnt get it to compile on OpenBSD. Probably because I didnt spend much time playing. So its good enough to really start using huh?

Pan has been pretty good for quite a while now. I've been using it since Mandrake 7.1 which was one of the first distributions I tried. Even back then it was quite stable and easy to use.

I have had problems with it in the past that's why I stuck with Knode, but this one is showing the signs of maturity of the development cycle and has been running pretty damn nice. As a newreader it's really good despite having the beta title assigned to it with this lastest build.

P.S. - Hmm.......didn't know they had a OS-X version of Pan.
