Linux/networking newbie: server configuration

Hi guys. My friend and I are newbies to Linux and currently using RedHat 6.2. What we're trying to do is set up two computers using a crossover cable, and do a NFS install on computer #2 from computer #1 (i.e., computer #1 is the server). The problem that we're running into is how to set up #1 to act as a server. I can ping #2 from #1, so we're assuming that the hardware is set up correctly.

Is there a HOWTO that can explain how to do this? Any suggestions from the linux gurus? Thanks in advance for any help.

#1 is currently running RedHat 6.2.

You may have better luck doing it as an FTP install. Give that a try.
