hi guys,
i just loaded a laptop (dell latitude with xircom pcmcia 10/100 nic) with mandrake 9.1 not too long ago and got most of what i want it to do to work. however, i noticed that the date rate i'm getting isn't quite as good as i had hoped it would be. my network is 10/100 all the way.
when this laptop was running win2k, i was able to get a date rate of 50Mbps or more (it bounces a lot between 50-70Mbps and wasn't really stable). with linux, i'm getting about 37Mbps with the same equipment. the only diff was i now use wsftp after the laptop is running linux vs windows network neighborhood when the laptop was running win2k.
