Linux Mint KDE: COnnect to Windows VPN server

Anyone have any luck getting a Linux machine to connect to a Windows VPN? I've been messing with it for a while and haven't gotten anywhere.

I'm not even real sure where/if it's logging any errors.

Yes. I have an Ubuntu 12.04 desktop connecting to a Windows PPTP VPN. It did take a bit of tweaking to get it to work properly, though.

What sort of tweaking? I'm double checking with my sysadmin to see if default PPTP settings work, and i see no reason for them not to. Do you know where the network manager logs the results of a connection attempt?
