linux mint 20.3 video problem

So, I installed mint 20.3, no issues. I updated video drivers on the 4090 to the recommended, (I think 525) and no issues. The cpu is a 7950x3d.

I updated using the update option on the main menu screen (the welcome screen) and then the next boot, the screen is black. Its recorgnized, as if I unplug the HDMI cable it says no display after that. If I plug into the onboard IGP port, still no monitor connected. What is going on and how do I fix it ????

OK, I figured it out. Do NOT use the 525-open drivers that it says are recommended, use the regular 525 drivers AFTER you have updated the video card firmware.
