Yes I have, and like it. I've used both Mint & Ubuntu (preferring Mint) as dual boots with Windows, now I have Mint 11 on a HDD by itself. Windows (XP, Vista & 7, all 64 bit) is on another HDD.

It is much more secure, requires no defrag tools, registry cleaners, tune up utilities, or AV/IS suite. As with most Linux OS's, there's a learning curve involved, but if one can run the Firefox (or Opera) browser, they're on their way to learning Mint. I've used Mint since 2009, and while I'm not a "guru", I can do what I need to do with Mint. This includes emailing, web browsing, forum posting, making purchases, whatever.

Mint, along with all Linux OS's, is picky about printers, but most HP's works fine. There are others that works too, but (many) HP printers supports Linux quite well.

Finally, I'm tired of shelling out $200+ every 3 years to have the "latest" OS on the block. Even Apple doesn't charge as much as M$, I recently got an email from them, offering their latest OS in July for $25.

If one wants to have a Long Term Support version of Mint, then 9 is still available, and will receive updates through sometime in 2013. I have it installed, but usually go with the latest release possible. Just as with any OS of any brand, newer versions tend to be more secure, while offering the latest features available.

One doesn't have to pay the M$ Tax every 3 years to have a modern, safe, functional OS. Mint is one of those options, the 4th most used OS worldwide.
