Wow i just installed mandrake 7.2 last night.. Probally one of the easiest installs ever.. not to mention the phat software that comes with the free download. i was really impressed maby i was just a little naive in thinking that since linux wasn't as publicised as Win'crap' that it wouldn't have some good apps and that i wouldn't be able to load anything on nix. I went to the linux world expo in nyc earlier this month and i was bound for a switch over. I think im hooked. I don't ever see a reason to ever go back to Windoze ...free=good :D

i hope to see if alot of people feel the same way. and if you guys have any applications that you think are cool post um.. im down for testin out some new waters!!

The latest Mozilla is very nice. Mandrake has taken Netscape out of the 8.0 beta and is using Mozilla instead. Is that a sign or what?

Which desktop are you using?

I usually use KDE, but I think it takes quite a bit of CPU to run it as my RC5 went down to 1.6Mkeys/s in KDE on average. My peak is 2.4Mkeys, and I usually get about 2.0-2.1Mkeys in WIn2000 browsing. I switch to Icewm and it is back to the 2.0-2.1Mkeys.

I personally run WindowMaker mostly. I have run OLVM and FVWM in the past. KDE 2.1 is nice enough that I may run it some and I know the most of my family will probably run it.
