Anyone knows if there is a mail server software that can download mail from a pop account and be a pop server in a local network(i.e. like Avirt Mail Gateway) for linux?
 
fetchmail can retrieve it for you, but I am not sure what pop3 servers are out there that you could use. Check freshmeat.net
 
The clients in the local network can just go through a router (or the linux box in any number of ways) without needing a middle man.
