Hi,

I just installed Mandrake 8 and i was wondering how i would go about installing my Sound Card (Sound Blaster Live).

I try to play some MP3's with Xmms and they wont play.........other than that everything is working fine (I think).

Thanks for the help.

i believe the mandrake utility is sndconfig...run this as root, it should be very simple. don't forget to do some post install security tweaking if u have a perminent internet connection....

I am a newbie to Linux when I installed Mandrake 7.2 I had no sound. I turned off PNP OS in the BIOS to no and next boot it was configured and worked. Make sure you select NO PNP OS and see if that helps.
