im running mandrake 7.2 and it automatically starts up in KDE. i dont really mind how it starts up graphically, but i want to enable it so i have to logon each time manually rather than the way it is setup right now where it logs on automatically. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Simple, when you login to KDE, open a console. Login as root or SU to root. Edit the file /etc/iniittab, you will find a line that reads:

id:5:initdefault

Or something to that effect, change that 5 to a 3 and reboot. You'll now come to a text login prompt everytime you start the machine. To enter the KDE login sesion, type in "init 5" at the command prompt..Regards
