Linux help: Getting Unreal tournament working ??

I've installed UT on various linux systems with different hardware, but i don't think UT wants to work on my new slackware 9.1 setup
It installs just fine but when I got to run it it gives me the following output and goes nowhere:

Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault]
Aborting.
Exiting.

(if you want the full error log just let me know and i'll reinstall and try again cause i was messing with an unofficial release version which got a little farther but also didn't work)

i'm thinking maybe there is some kinda version mismatch with one or more programs that have updated since the UT 436 installer was released

Anyone have any ideas ??

Anyone here running UT on a new distro ??

thanks all

i guess it's just the glibc version being too new

anyone know if you can have two versions of glibc installed at the same time ??

Does it look like this:

??

no
i'm not trying to use glide
i wish it was as simple as changing my api
thanks tho

yeah i'm pretty sure it's the glibc version cause Soldier of fortune won't work either

i guess i'll just compile the old glibc cause i found a site that tells how to specify what glibc to use
