Linux hardware showdown!!!

I'm torn between getting the GA-M61P-S3 with a Athlon 64 X2 3600+ or the BLKDG965WHMKR with the cheapest core 2 duo. This will be used for a linux based file server (probably ubuntu) to be used with software raid and 4-5 hard drives. I may decide to use to use this as my mythtv backend as well, as well as backing up dvds to be played over the network. I am looking for good bang for the buck, but primarily good hardware support in linux. Which combo would you guys suggest?
