Linux Guru's please help me!!! (Slackware install problems)

I am currently trying to install slackware 7.1 but when I go to the slackware site and download the root disk(2nd of 2 bootdisk) it is over 3 megs. The documentation says that the image should fit on a floppy. How in the world is that? I have tried RAWRITE and Winzip to no avail. Can someone please tell me how I can get this 3 meg image onto a 1.44 meg floppy? Thanks for your help in advance.
