Linux FTP howto?

I have RH 7.2 and want to setup a ftp w/ no anon access. Is there a good howto on how to do this? I have xinetd, wu-ftpd, and anonftp packages installed like a RH doc says, but I cannot connect to it...

Should I use a different FTP program to serve? If so, what?
