linux for dreamcast?

Anyone know anything about the port of linux to the sega dreamcast? I'm considering buying one before they go out of stock, but I would like some info on this before i go spend any money on one.

Thanks.

It is probably similar to the dreamcast port that came out before it. What info do you need? As long as you have an NFS server somewhere it should be ok.

I wouldn't waste the money on buying a Dreamcast just for linux. However, if you want some excellent games to play, Dreamcast is great for that. Games are so cheap now, too! Almost every game produced for it was pretty good. There were really only a handful of games that weren't any good.

Also, you will need the broadband adapter to really get any usage from linux for Dreamcast, but those things ebay off for $180 now! I don't know why, but...they do. They used to cost $60 direct from Sega, but Sega is out of them now and isn't producing any more.

I've had a Dreamcast since the day it came out, and it's one of the best consoles I have ever purchased. For the amount of good games, and fun I've had with it...it was really a sad day to hear Sega say that they're done producing them. I used to be a Nintendo Fanboy until I got my hands on a Dreamcast about a month before release...I just had to have one after that. It was just too amazing to me. Graphics were unreal at that time. Sonic Adventure was just drop dead gorgeous (and it still is, if you ask me..)

I'm almost tempted to buy another at $55, in case the one I have now breaks!! I really love the system, and it would be a shame if it broke! (I doubt it will, it's been going strong since I bought it)
