Linux for a power PC

Hey all,

Anyone have a good recommendation for a version of linux that can run on an old mac power pc? It would be for a begining Linux user. My buddy has OS 8.4 or 8.5 with nothing else installed (i.e., word processor, etc...). Like most of us, he is broke, and cannot afford to break down and buy a new computer, software, etc... I told him that there might be a version of Linux that could work. Is there something available?

Thanks in advance.

You need to find the specifics on the 'old mac' to know for usre. I YellowDog is a PPC distro based on RedHat, I personally would use Debian.
