Linux: fdisk question

You know how fdisk allows you to specify a primary partition's number when you create it? Does it let you do that when you create a logical partition?

I have a plan in my head, but it depends on being able to specify the number of logical partitions (e.g., start at 8 and skip to 10).

No, because logical partitions aren't defined in the same manor.
