Linux Error Message

I'm new to linux and have installed Red Hat 6.2 on my pc. When I try to set up my Nic card through linuxconf, I receive this message: "Application /user/bin/gnome-linuxconf (process 731) has crashed due to a fatal error (segmentation fault)" I know this has something to due with my memory, but am not sure why, what to do? I've received similure messages every time I try to do other things through linuxconf. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks, linux newbie.

I have a 128M stick of RAM, I don't think it is the physical memory that is the problem, but I could be wrong.
