Linux drivers for GeForce2 MX??

Anyone know where i can get Linux drivers for GeForce2 MX card?
And how do i install them??

I'd like to know that myself. I have winlinux 2000 installed on a regular fat32 partition (it boots from dos), but as it hangs during boot and it isn't possible to recognize the mx card in the configuration utility, I'm cluless on what to do.

for me installation went ok but would let me select the option for AGP n settle for std VGA n the awful resolution. I am using Suse Linux 7

If you have to ask this question, and I'm not trying to sound harsh, you are probably going to have some problems getting the drivers installed(I sure as he!! did:|).

First, what version of XFree does your build of Linux have?

If it isn't 4.xx, then you are going to need to upgrade.

If you do have XF4.xx already then you can head over to nVidia's site for the drivers and install instructions, I think they work out to six pages printed(not joking), and they leave out a lot of stuff that could go differently depending on your build.

I hosed many different Linux installs before getting the nV drivers up and working properly, of course since I have they have run great, near Win9X performance in everything I have tried so far. I'd strongly reccomend backing everything up before you give it a shot, and then make sure you are comfortable at the command line(you can't update drivers from within X). I also would suggest going the tar route instead of using any available RPMs unless you have it confirmed that they work properly with your exact build. If not, you may be forced to use the Uvh --nodeps command which will ignore how things are supposed to go and do what it wants(oversimplification, but it can hose X fairly easily).

I don't know how much Linux experience you have, could very well be far beyond my limited knowledge, but I spent a great deal of time trying to get the nV drivers installed properly(by FAR the biggest pain in the @ss I've ever had with any video card).

thanx for the tip Ben ... i've been searching on the net for drivers n each site seems to say different things so thought i'd post the question here.

I used Linux a while back in college n that was easy when everything i had was supported. Now i decide to give Linux a go again sooo a refresher course is needed

Hi -
You can get latest drivers for Linux from nVidia directly. As Ben stated, you'll need XFree86 4.0.1. You can get binary distributions of this for most flavors of Linux.
