I know that this topic has been covered already, but since the number of linux distributions keep expanding --
what is the easiest linux distribution for a n00b to install?
i have windows xp pro on my system -- will it be hard to create a dual boot system?
will the linux distro automatically do it for me?
also, what are the chances of finding adequate drivers for my raid 0 system (promise controller), hercules xp audio system, gf4 video card,
cd-rom, and dvd-rom?

Also, my entire harddrives are partitioned in the NFS system. WIll the linux distro be compatible with that?

I know that this is a lot of questions, but i need to know the answers to all of them before i install a linux distro.

Thanks.

you'll get better answers in the Operating Systems forum than this one.
Also, you're questions have been asked and answered a zillion times on it, so read through a bit, do a few searches, and try and find that FAQ thread they had going for a while.

Personally, I think you're biting off more than you should in one go. Get a cheap second machine, don't use raid, don't worry about dual booting, just get the thing running.
