hey

I just got a new amd 800 mhz system and wanted to install red hat linux 6.2 . I had 6.1 running perfectly find on my old amd k6 233, but i had to scrap that for parts for my new system, and now, when linux boots, i get a general protection fault when it tries to disable the CPUID. i don't see any setting in bios to disable this, and i don't know what i can do about it. any of you have any ideas about what this means? like i said, i have an amd thunderbird 800mhz and a MSI K7T Pro motherboard

help would be much appreciated
