i have a linksys wap11 wireless access point, connected to a netgear rt314 with a hardcoded ip address both with the same subnet,
the wireless access point is connected to a wireless card a little bit away from my place and the connection is good, but my friends network is causing problems. The box that he has the wireless network card in that is connecting to my wireless access point is windows xp, but the rest of his lan is linux, and is routed by linux. we both have cable modem, but wish to create a local area network for file sharing and failsafe internet, like tcp/ip settings, under gateway, there would be like 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 for his computer, is this possible? cause my internet goes down a lot and it would be nice to be able to use his in the meantime. Whenever he tries to bridge his NIC and the wireless cards so that we may communicate with his linux gateway and other comps, the wireless stops talking when we bridge :( We hardcode all ip addresses and know for sure there are no conflicts there. any ideas?
