linux and win2k

I have installed Red Hat Linux 6.1 on a 8gig hard drive. I want to dual boot with win2k. That hard drive is not partioned, is a full 8gig with Linux. I want to install win2k and keep Linux. Does win2k come with something so I can partion that hard drive, when I install win2k?? I don't wanna lose my Linux.

There is an easy fix. It may have come with your linux for free. something like partition magic for linux, or other similar app. I know that partition magic makes a version specifically for linux that can resize a partion on the fly without destroying data. There are other similar apps, but this one I know, and it comes with certain distributions for free

You can repartition very easily in Win2K. Go to control panel, Administrator tools, select computer Management, click Storage and then disk managment.
You will see a colorful display of your HD partitions and the format info (NTFS, FAT32).
Simply go to the colored window in the partition you want to change and double click. You can figure the rest. Very similar to Linux's own partitioning screen in Mandrake 7.0. or RH 6.2

I hope to get RH 7.0 in a day or so and will be installing with W2k also.

Partition magic should do the trick.

Alternatively, you might try GNU Parted (free - search for it at www.freshmeat.net):

"GNU Parted allows you to create, destroy, resize and copy partitions. It supports ext2 and FAT (FAT16 and FAT32) filesystems and Linux swap devices, and MS-DOS disk labels. This is useful for creating space for new operating systems, reorganising disk usage, copying data between hard disks, and disk imaging. The old stable version (1.0.x) will still be maintained for the paranoid."

I haven't used this, but it sounds like it'd work.
