I have a linux box, and a win2k box both connected to a hub. I would like to eventually set up Samba on the linux box for file sharing, but am having trouble getting the two machines to see each other.
I have setup the linux box with IP of - 192.168.0.2 // 255.255.255.0 and the win2k box with - 192.168.0.1 // 255.255.255.0
I am able to have each machine succesfully ping itself ie. ping 192.168.0.1 from win2k and 192.168.0.2 from Linux.
I am unable to ping the other machine though, I get nothing in Linux, and in win2k I get request times out errors.
Can someone give me a low down as to what I could be missing? I have tried reading the linux documentation and it makes some sense to me, but I have no idea how it corresponds to my win2k setup.
