linux and video card with svideo-out

Hello guys.

Just wondering if any of you have successfully activated the s-video output of a typical video card in linux.. And what command do you need to type, or what file to edit (such as xorg.conf).

The reason: I want to be able to record video of my linux desktop.

I've never actually attempted this, but I have an alternative.

gtk-RecordMydesktop

It's an application that will allow you to choose which part of your screen to record, either a small box or the entire thing, it's up to you.

I'll google it 🙂 but im really hoping to use my svideo-out of the video card, together with audio-out... then feed to VCR.
