Linux and USB Hot Swapping

I was wondering if Linux (particularly Mandrake 8.1 unmodified) supports USB Hot Swapping?

I need to know so I can tell whether or not something is wrong with my USB KVM switch (IOgear Miniview II. Or if it is just not possible and I need to see about returning the switch and finding some other solution.
