Linux and SE dual boot

alright, I have successfully installed linux on hd2 as a slave to hd1 on the motherboard primary channel. when I leave that config alone, I can run se or linux no problems, everything is good to go.

then I move hd1 to my controller card, make hd2 the master on mb primary channel and try to boot. I can boot to se fine, but when I try to boot linux, it says "kernel panic..." (sorry I forgot the rest) and I can't boot.

any help?

You switched hda and hdb drives after the install. Make a kernel boot disk, then edit /etc/lilo.conf and type lilo -v.
