Linux and nForce motherboard... Need software advice!

I am setting an nForce 420-D

I will be using the onboard video (GF2MX), onboard LAN, and onboard nVidia 5.1 digital surround. :)

Will this work with Linux? I was thinking about using Mandrake since I am a n00b. :)

Any advice would be helpful... I need to know the best free CD-RW software and DVD software...

For your nforce motherboard, you just need to download the drivers at Nvidia. That is one thing I like about nvidia is that they have linux drivers.

For DVD and cd-rw programs, I'm not totally sure.

If you have all of the CD's for Mandrake, you can just install Xine and X CD Roast off of them. Just make sure you download the DVD plugins for Xine.
