Hey. I am trying to use Mandrake Linux 8 on a network. I can't get either my DLink DE-220 or Realtek 8029 working....can anyone help? Is it because they are both ISA?

Both of those cards are supported under linux. Are you sure that you have ISA NIC with Realtek 8029 chip? I have only seen PCI NIC's with it (very common). Maybe just your network configuration is somewhat messed up and those cards would actually work?

If they aren't PNP you have to manually tell Linux to load the NE2000 (or whatever) drivers to so and so an address... and if they are PNP you might still have to tell it to load the drivers and detect. You will get people telling you how, but unless it's easier then back when I did this with Redhat 6.0, you might be best off looking for How-To's at redhat.com, linux.org, or linuxdoc.org.
