Hi,
I am running an Adaptec 3200S raid controller with a 1.2 terabyte raid array attached to it. The problem is that Linux, kernels 2.4.7, 2.4.12, and 2.4.14 all with XFS patches won't let me create a partition greater than 1 terabyte. Here are the two partitions I can make below. The total size is right, but I can't make one big one. If I use FDISK to make a partition utilizing the whole disk, MKFS for both ext2 and xfs will error out. Any suggestions?
/dev/sda2 160G 672k 160G 1% /temp3
/dev/sda1 1023G 4.1M 1023G 1% /temp2

could you explain to me why you would want a partition greater than 1T? hell why would you want a partition greater than 10G?
