Linux a good idea on my system?

What kind of system? Whatcha gonna do wid it? What's it's goal in life? What does it want to be when it grows up? Kind of like asking "Should I buy a truck?" Some will tell you "Yes, Definitely". Others will say, "No way". Others will ask you, "what kind of truck?" But, you should probably tell us what you are planning on doing, how much money you have, what you want to do with it, etc.

There is no definitive answer. That's the beauty of it. It's all subjective and relative. What works for you may not work for me. Hence the expression, "YMMV".

Linux is good on a lot of systems though, but like mgpaulus said... what are your plans and your system specs of course.
